Biking with Anan

The Dynamic Duo
In the past four years I've biked about 20,000 miles (30,000k). I've biked all over Israel, Connecticut, New Jersey, Spain and Massachussets. But today had to be one of the best bike rides I've ever taken.
At Jordan Pond
Anan and I rode together on the carriage roads of Acadia, him sitting behind me on a tag-a-long. At first it was a bit wobbly and he was a bit scared. But within five minutes he was whooping with joy. We took the bus from Bar Harbor to Eagle Lake and set off. It was so great to see the other kids pushing themselves up the mountain, and hear Anan yelling at me to catch up to them. The paths are great and very comfortable to ride on. There are some decent hills, but nothing too hard. Anan and I rode really fast, passing almost everyone we saw. At first he asked me why I was saying hi to everyone, but then I taught him to say "Hey buddy" to everyone he saw. We were singing, smiling and pushing ourselves pretty hard. It was just loads of fun, hard to think of anywhere I'd rather be.

Acadia continues to be a little piece of heaven. The parks are so clean, I've barely seen a speck of trash the entire trip. There are plenty of people here, and yet it doesn't feel crowded. To me, this is vacation at its best. Nature, sport, clean air, outdoors and family time.
